good or bad about academic writing

The goals, the way I view them, suggest the writing should be complete and whole basically. I see the goals as a lot to do but I think they are just there to help someone become a better writer. I'm sure none of us are perfect writers and we need these goals to help us become better in writing. By at least trying to incorporate all those goals into our writing I think its a lot better than not having any goals and just writing, unless you are really good at it. Our assignments suggest good things about academic writing because there are many things we can look at and make connections between. I think the course reader suggests academic writing should be fun but have to do with a lot of work. This is good because I would like to have fun while writing but its bad because its time consuming and it takes work and thought. This is hard for people who don't like or enjoy writing but much easier for those who like writing. Last is what I wish writing could be. I wish it wouldn't have so many goals we would have to follow and that we could just write on whatever we wanted to or on something we had experience with and then get feedback on how that turned out. I guess maybe that explains why I like reflective essays.
