Is Drooling Part of Method Acting?

I've noticed in the past year, mainly after Daniel Day Lewis' performance in There Will Be Blood, that there's a lot of drooling going on. What I mean by that, and if you've ever seen the movies ending, is that their literally is a lot of drooling on screen in today's cinema. Daniel Day Lewis as Daniel Plainview gives a perplexing unbeliavable performance. In the very last scene he gets so angry that he starts to drool. Firstly, is this a real emotion? Do people drool when they get so infuriated as to let spittle run down their chins. Daniel Plainview isn't the only one. New star on the block, Shia LaBeouf has been drooling in the last two of his movies. In the movie Disturbia he drools after a horrific car accident. In Eagle Eye he drools after being shot. How is drooling on screen suppose to affect us emotinaly as an audience? (Too bad we cant drool on paper) When I first started to notice this non-sensical shenanigan I laughed. Post a comment and tell me what you think, and lets get a list going of all the movies where somone drools in (babies on screen dont count!)
